Garden Keeper Volunteers

Help us nurture healthy minds, bodies, and an appreciation for history and community!

The Brown Homestead has established a number of garden-related initiatives and requires assistance with the ongoing care and maintenance of our garden spaces.

In addition to maintaining the garden during the growing season, Garden Keepers assist with our seedling growing initiatives. All of the seedlings grown for the Victory Garden, Three Sisters Garden and Seedling Giveaway Initiative are grown in house. Garden Keepers help us with planting, watering, transplanting, and distributing around 500 seedlings each year to support local food security. 100% of all produce grown in our gardens is donated to neighbouring food banks.

What to Expect

This role occurs on an ongoing, regular basis. Garden Keepers can expect to volunteer a few hours a week between March and October.
