1850s Dairy Adaptive Reuse Project
In 2023, we began an ambitious endeavour to transform our historic 1850s Dairy onsite into a space equipped to serve ice cream. Affectionately referred to as the Homestead Creamery, we’re slowly making progress on this project thanks to your generosity.
Work accomplished so far includes:
Contracting architectural drawings and plans
Installation of traditional sheep’s wool insulation
Wood window restoration

Thanks to the generous financial support of the United Way Niagara through Healthy People, Strong Communities, we are able to offer free Grow@ programming to the community, which includes hands-on workshops, informative presentations, and our annual Seedling Giveaway Initiative.
In 2024, support from the Rotary Club of St. Catharines and a in-kind donation from Peavey Mart also enabled the purchase of a small greenhouse. This allows us to grow even more vegetable and herb seedlings for our giveaway as well as the community-based garden we grow on site.
