Tastes of the Tavern:
Whisky Tasting & History Experience
Saturday, February 8 | 1 - 3:30 p.m. and 5 - 7:30 p.m.
$89 per person
Sip and savour the spirit of Niagara in the oldest home in St. Catharines.
An elevated experience for whisky and history enthusiasts alike.
Guests will enjoy a guided whisky tasting and learn about Niagara’s storied whisky history in the original ballroom of the John Brown House, constructed between 1802-1804. Specially-curated tapas pairings by Pique-Nique will be served to guests, featuring creations inspired by each whisky.
This experience will be led by Iron Gate’s Ajay Bhardwaj, Canada’s first certified whisky ambassador, and The Brown Homestead’s very own Sara Nixon, a knowledgeable and passionate local historian.
Please note that the John Brown House is undergoing continued restoration work and is currently not wheelchair accessible. The guided-tasting portion of the event will take place on the second storey of the house, accessible by stairs only. Washroom facilities are outdoors and accessible by stairs only.
Following the tasting, guests are invited to explore the house and discover our on-going heritage restoration work while indulging in desserts and a signature tavern-inspired cocktail.
