Haul Out the Holly!

“Put up the tree before my spirit falls again!
Fill up the stocking,
It’s time we hung some tinsel on that evergreen bough!”

It’s that merry time of year again when JBHF decorates The Brown Homestead for the holidays! On Saturday, December 1st our wee army was out in force decking our halls, and we wanted to share the festivities with you!

We also want to take a moment to celebrate the local nursery where we purchased this year’s decorations. Niagara Nurseries has been a part of St. Catharines for nearly 100 years. Since 1926, they have been in the same location on St. Paul Street, run by three generations of the same family. They offer everything from annual and perennial garden plants, vegetable and berry plants, flowering shrubs, evergreens and gardening supplies. In August, their Farm Market features locally and home grown sweet corn, tomatoes, peppers, fruits, squash, pumpkins and more.

As this chilly, but joyous season approaches, Niagara Nurseries provides first rate poinsettias and cut Christmas trees.Their wonderful staff also create striking mixed seasonal arrangements, wreaths and garlands, just like the ones we used to trim The Brown Homestead on Saturday!
