Niagara Through A Lens

Community Photo Project

Submit your photo and be a part of a living portrait of our region over time — a mosaic of memories, landscapes, and stories that shape how we have collectively experienced and imagined Niagara - both yesterday and today.

About the Project

This living exploration of what it means to live in Niagara is looking for submissions from you! Your family, your life, your experience living in Niagara. We want to see Niagara through the lens of your camera, from the very beginning of the Welland Canal, to modern day.

This Community Photo Project is a part of the Niagara GeoClub Culture Crawl hosted at the Meridian Community Centre in Pelham, ON, on March 8, 2026.

Developed, facilitated and hosted by The Brown Homestead, Niagara Through the Lens is a community place-making project that invites you to share one photograph that captures your relationship with Niagara.

Together, these photos create a living portrait of our region over time — a mosaic of memories, landscapes, and stories that shape how we have collectively experienced and imagined Niagara - both yesterday and today. Together, these photos will form a travelling exhibit and permanent archive celebrating the diverse people, places, and stories of our region.

Photo collection will take place in early 2026, and the temporary travelling exhibit display will be unveiled at Culture Crawl on March 8, 2026 before moving to The Brown Homestead for exhibition through to October 2026.

If you believe that any images submitted to the Niagara Through a Lens collection infringes upon your intellectual property rights or is causing you any concern, please contact us. Upon receipt of a valid notice, we will take appropriate action, which may include removing the content.
