Getting to The Brown Homestead

 

1317 Pelham Road, St. Catharines, ON, L2R 6P7

Our site is accessible by vehicle or bicycle. Unfortunately we are not accessible by public transit.

From Toronto: Take the Queen Elizabeth Way Niagara-bound toward St. Catharines. Take exit 51 for Seventh Street and continue on to Regional Road 81, turn left towards Fifth Street Louth, and left again at Pelham Road.

From Niagara Falls: Take the QEW toward St. Catharines. Take Exit 49 for Glendale Avenue / Niagara-on-the-Lake / Airport. Turn left onto Glendale Avenue, then continue on to Pelham Road and turn left.

Parking

The Brown Homestead currently has limited parking. Our main parking is located next to John Brown House on a gravel lot. Overflow parking is adjacent, on an uneven grassed and gravel area near our Victory Garden.

The entrance to The Brown Homestead is close to a sharp curve on Pelham Rd. Please be mindful of surrounding traffic.

Accessibility

Our site is currently undergoing rehabilitation, and not yet wheelchair accessible. Stairs are required to access the main floor and second-storey of the John Brown House, as well as our washroom facilities. We aim to enhance the experience of all visitors to our site and alternative viewing options are available.

Nestled in the rural outskirts of St. Catharines, The Brown Homestead is located across from the Short Hills Provincial Park parking lot and surrounded by vineyards. Go for a hike, enjoy a tasting at a nearby winery or pick from several quaint restaurants a short drive away in Downtown St. Catharines.
