Niagara's Militia in 1914: A Tale of Two Colonels

From June 7 to 12, 1914, a fascinating military exercise took place across the Niagara Region. Culminating in a mock skirmish and involving 3,600 men, the action took place far enough west for the weapons fire to be within earshot of the Powers family farm (now The Brown Homestead) west of St. Catharines in Power Glen.
